Mariachi Chicana
Mariachi Chicana is an all-female mariachi ensemble based in Austin, Texas. Composed of professional musicians, the group performs at private events such as weddings and corporate galas, as well as public cultural events. Each performance is carefully prepared to ensure a high-quality musical experience, creating unforgettable moments.
Our Story
Mariachi Chicana is composed of highly accomplished, all-female Mexican-American musicians, each bringing 10 to 35 years of professional experience in mariachi and a diverse range of musical genres. The ensemble is proudly bilingual and highly educated, with most members holding university-level music degrees and extensive professional training.
More than performers, the members of Mariachi Chicana are cultural leaders, educators, mothers, students, and working professionals who embody excellence both on and off the stage. Their collective artistry is reflected in polished visual presentation, refined musicianship, and a deep respect for the history and cultural significance of mariachi music.
Mariachi Chicana is currently preparing to release their first single, marking an exciting milestone in their artistic journey. The ensemble has also presented educational programs at elementary schools throughout Austin, Texas, introducing students to the history of mariachi, traditional instruments, and cultural heritage—demonstrating a strong commitment to arts education and community engagement.
The ensemble has been featured in VoyageAustin Magazine, where they shared their mission and the importance of women's representation in Austin's mariachi scene. They were also recently highlighted on Austin’s FOX 7 during Women’s History Month, showcasing their leadership, artistry, and impact as professional women in music within the local community.
Through custom repertoire and thoughtfully curated performances, Mariachi Chicana presents mariachi as an elevated art form—one that honors tradition while celebrating Chicana identity and women’s leadership. Whether performing at cultural festivals, educational institutions, in media features, at luxury events, or at private engagements, the ensemble brings professionalism, intention, and powerful artistry to every performance.
